People living in Cisco, Utah have always had to get creative to survive. The place is isolated, an hours drive from downtown Moab with no services and no running water. Cisco resident Eileen Muza spends her time resurrecting this spit of desert, creatively re-forming the historic leftovers that span decades in the American West.

"I'm just trying to reuse what's here, make it look good, give it a function," Muza told KZMU News. "To me it's a creative process. I'm making art…Random tires strewn about – it never looks good. If you could make [those tires] an impressive, formidable wall in a half circle, that's a different story."

As she re-forms these lands and its stories, Muza works against two distinct forces capable of destruction – the relentless wind, and tourists who still believe Cisco is a ghost town. She doesn't like people taking or breaking stuff, and she will protect her property. But, she says if Cisco's approached in the right way, there's a lot to be gained from experiencing the forgotten corners of local history.
