Witnesses to the Oct. 28th homicide of Moab resident Edgar Luna Najera, or "Rojo," took the stand Friday in a preliminary hearing at Grand County's 7th District Court. Those in the room at the time of Rojo's death allege that defendant Omar Guerro questioned the man about stolen drugs and the whereabouts of Guerro's family before becoming violent. Seventh District Judge Don Torgerson found probable cause in the case, and set a week-long jury trial this March for Guerro, who will be prosecuted for first degree felony murder and second degree possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person. On Friday, Guerro pled not guilty to both counts.
