Cory Finley on Landscape With Invisible Hand, 1950s American Television, & the Dark Future of A.I.

Cory Finley joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the new movie, Landscape With Invisible Hand, which finds an occupying alien species' bureaucratic rule and advanced technology that leaves most of Earth impoverished and unemployed, while two teenagers hatch a risky plan to ensure their families' futures. The director/screenwriter discusses why he chose to adapt the MT Anderson book, the sci-fi movies of the 80s and indie cinema of the 90s that influenced him, and casting the movie with Tiffany Haddish, Kylie Rogers, Asante Blackk, and Josh Hamilton. Finley also digs into why the aliens are obsessed with 1950s’s American television, how own dark view of the future and A.I., and the music and Michael Abels score that soundtracks the film.
