"To begin in a sound way is a matter of wisdom (zhi*). To carry a process through to the end is a matter of sagacity (sheng).
In the beginning, Wisdom is like skill.
Then Sagacity is like strength [in carrying through].
In discharging an arrow from a hundred paces out, arriving at the target area is a matter of strength. As for whether or not the arrow “hits the mark” (zhong), this is not a matter of strength."
