About Nayana Bhaskar

Nayana is dedicated to advocating for the rights of survivors and is a proponent of holistic healing and wellbeing. Nayana received a B.A. in Public Health Policy and B.S. in Public Health Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. During her undergraduate career, she engaged in numerous efforts to help decrease the stigma of mental health through her involvement in various on-campus organizations, including No Strings Attached and ASUCI’s Mental Health Commission. Currently as the Mental Health Commissioner, she is organizing UCI’s annual Reclaim Mental Health Conference, which illuminates the disproportionate risk factors for mental illness among marginalized communities and examines mental health through a sociopolitical lens. Nayana hopes to pursue a career in providing support and healing to individuals affected by various forms of trauma.
