The United Nations’ atomic watchdog agency on Sunday confirmed a drone attack on one of the nuclear reactors at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and warned it could “significantly increase the risk of a major nuclear accident.” The IAEA said there has been at least three direct hits on the main reactor’s containment structures – the first such attack since November 2022. Plant authorities say there has been no critical damage or casualties, and that radiation levels remain normal.
