Wednesday is National Hearing Day.   Hearing Industries Association (HIA) President, Kate Carr joined "The Extra" to talk about new research showing fewer than 16 percent of adults ages 20-69 who need a hearing aid use one. That number almost doubles to 30% for adults over age 70 who need a hearing aid but don’t use one, according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders.   Hearing loss is also tied to other health issues such as depression and dementia.  It is also well established that during the pandemic, staying connected is key for healthy living.  More information on the subject can be found at who.int/activities/celebrating--world--hearing--day and betterhearing.org
