On March 10th, 2020, Governor Jared Polis declared a State of Emergency due to the Covid-19 health crisis, ushering in  drastic changes designed to curb the spread of covid-19.  The growing health emergency would lead to the shutdowns, restrictions, mask mandates and other changes to come.  The Governor's declaration came at a time when there were fewer than two dozen cases statewide.  One year later, the number of cases statewide has grown to more than 440,000 and more than 6,000 Covid 19 deaths statewide. Guests for Part 1 of our two-part special, "Colorado's Covid Emergency: One Year Later" included Dr. Bill Plauth, Chief Medical Officer of Penrose St. Francis Health Services and Renee Elwell, Chief Nursing Officer at Pueblo's Parkview Medical Center.
