On Wednesday's "The Extra", host Shannon Brinias discussed the growing sport of pickleball with guest Joe Johnson, President of the Pikes Peak Pickleball Association. PPPA has over 1000+ members and they play almost daily at area courts, including at Monument Valley Park and Bear Creek Park. Pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court (indoor or outdoor) with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It requires a perforated plastic ball similar to a wiffle ball. PPPA offers $20 annual membership, and free lessons; more information can be found at PikesPeakPickleball.com.
