Vacation 2010 - Prologue

The kids and I hope to have a bunch more fun this week. As kind of a pre-vacation trip we decided to spend the day with Donna and her family in Michigan. William came with us too. We hit the dunes first. It rained all the way to Sawyer and stopped about 10 minutes after we pulled in. William was very determined to have his day at the beach so he went down to put his feet in the water. We joined in a few minutes later and then agreed that even though it was cloudy and the water was cold we should still get our suits on and go swimming. Dayne was the only sane one and he embarked on a hunt for beach glass (Donna is a collector). There was plenty of room to toss the ball in the water and we had a good old time. No waves to surf but still fun.



Eventually we made our way to Donna's house. We invaded and were glad to see everyone. William got a tour of the house and the yard - they had just dug a huge garden. We drove over to St. Joes and meandered through town stopping at the toy store. Certain adults seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the kids. Dinner was pizza on a covered patio. Very nice place with good food. Ice cream after that and then the drive home. We really wanted to stay longer - and I really wanted a bon fire - but the next day was the official start of the vacation and we needed to get back.
We love going to see Donna and Rob, Chelsey and Belle. They are so great! A fabulous start to a good week.
