In 2006 in Perth, Western Australia, 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell was murdered by two teenage girls because they found her "annoying". The killers, a couple, proceeded to film the murder, and kiss over her body to symbolise their love and loyalty to one another. Their bizarre actions earned them the nickname in the media 'the kiss killers'. If you are a Perth local, you may have also heard this case being referred to as 'the lesbian vampire killers' or the 'wheelie bin murder'.
Today, I want to look past the sensationalistic headlines and focus on the young girl that lost her life in what was a senseless and sadistic crime...
