There has only been one boxing card in Portland, Oregon in the last 12 years. This past December, former super featherweight champion Steve Forbes and co-promoter Christina Lunzman organized a five-fight card under their promotional banner, 2 Pound Sports & Entertainment. Headlined by Tacoma, Washington-based cruiserweight prospect Marquice Weston, the event proved that boxing was welcome in the Rose City.
It's been a few months, but on August 25th, 2 Pound Sports & Entertainment returns to the Jackson Armory for another five-fight card.
On a special edition of Knuckles and Gloves Boxing Radio, boxing historian Patrick Connor welcomes Forbes and Lunzman to the show to discuss 2 Pound's "Fight Night 2," The Contender, the future of boxing in Portand and the Pacific Northwest and more.
