As a founder of the globally successful @frombarreltobottle Instagram account, Erik has spent the past few years combining his passions for whisky, photography and adventure into one extraordinary visual feast for drinkers.

He reassures the legendary low-tech Gordon that the perfect whisky photo has nothing to do with a fancy camera or piece of equipment. It’s about capturing a moment and a mood – a single malt at home with friends, a glass hit by a beautiful golden light just before sundown, or a bracing dram after a winter climb in the Rockies. Then it’s about sharing it, as Gordon would do with a finely crafted whisky, for all the world to enjoy.  

His story of a trip to Scotland 12 years ago sparking his passion for whisky and photography in one is inspiring – and there’s plenty of laughter, drams and corks popping to finish as Gordon and Erik taste their way through some of the anCnoc collection.
