If you are an investor or someone thinking of investing, you probably have heard about Crpto-currency lately. Crypto is an unregulated, off the grid type of currency that has governments upset. Why? Mainly because they can’t regulate it!

There is a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of different choices if you decide this is something that you want to do.

To help us get a little better understanding of Crypto-Currency and, more specifically, the “big boy” in the room – BitCoin – we have our guest today who happens to be a BitCoin expert! Praise God!

Patrick Melder is an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon and sleep specialist. He trained at Walter Reed Army Medical center and was on active duty with the US Army for 13 years. He left the Army in 2006 as a Lieutenant Colonel and started his private practice career. Patrick holds nearly thirty US and international patents. Patrick has been involved in church ministry from positions as an elder and lay missions pastor. He is passionate about God’s mission to the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Dr. Patrick Melder was a US Army doctor for 13 years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC as well as a private practice Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon after serving in the military. He holds over 30 US and international patents and is passionate about the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth…

Patrick is also a serial entrepreneur. He first learned about Bitcoin in 2013 but made his first purchase in 2018 and has held ever since. He’s written extensively about Bitcoin’s truths and the impact it has on believers and non-believers.

Patrick also hosts a weekly podcast: “Mission:Bitcoin,” this is an interview podcast focusing on Bitcoin and Christianity, exploring Christian responsibility in adopting Bitcoin; How Bitcoin helps Christians align with God’s plan; and How Bitcoin can be used in Christian Missions.

He has also authored a book titled, “The Christian Case for Bitcoin.”

First question, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Patrick Melder?”

A lot of people want to know about BitCoin now because of the recent gains and highs it has hit. But most people do not know anything about it. What it is or how to trade it. It is called, “Crypto-Currency.”

So, let’s start there. What is “Crypto-Currency” and why has it become important in today’s financial circles?

We hear a lot about “mining” BitCoin and about “block-chains” and things like that. Can you briefly explain what those terms mean for our listeners?

Who first created BitCoin – and why?

I remember back, I’m guessing 5 or 6 years ago, it could have been a bit more, but it seems like BitCoin was about $300 per coin or so. And I was contemplating putting some money into – but decided it was probably a fad and it would end up going to zero. Have you heard that from others? Surely, I couldn’t be the only one…

Why are the governments of this world concerned about BitCoin and other Crypto-Currencies?

Folks, crypto-currency is no longer just a fad. It is real.
