Tyson’s analysis on “Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities Account for 42% of COVID-19 Deaths.” State-by-state covid-19 fatality reports, dated May 7, but updated with some as of June 1st.

Looking at two of five categories of “long-term care” providers - nursing homes and residential care communities (“assisted living facilities”).

Highlights:  i. Sample state data (data as of 6/1): Ohio: 70.5% of ALL covid deaths are from these two categories; Cali: 43.5%; KS: 51.2%; MN: 81.4%; LA: 39.9%; ND: 77%.   ii. 15.42 times as many deaths have occurred, as reported by 5/13, among those 65 and older, than of all of those younger than that!!  1. 26 times as likely to die (In episode, Tyson said a different number, which he thought maybe was wrong, and it was).   iii. ONE-THOUSAND FIVE-HUNDRED and SEVENTY-EIGHT times as many deaths among those 55 and older as among 24 and younger.
