Integrating the shadow, the darkness, to become a whole person is the topic of this week’s episode. Kimberly sits down with Brigette Patton of Soul Massages to talk about the hurdles they see people face when presented with duality and why it is critical to merge the unconscious with the conscious rather than push the darkness away. One of the struggles many have is avoiding the innerwork because they have a lack of understanding on how the shadow actually is a part of the awakening process and what can be learned from it. At the end of the day, the shadow is a part of us. You can’t hide it. It needs to be integrated to achieve wholeness, community, and real collaboration.

Key Points:

Achieving wholeness by lifting back the “layer” and having the courage to look at “it” (the dark part of ourselves).

How avoiding the innerwork makes it almost impossible to deliver your message and serve as an effective spiritual leader.

The darker, heavier, denser experiences and emotions are applicable and useful in the awakening process. People often have a misconception that the awakening process is going to be rainbows and butterflies. As a result, they push or avoid the negative rather than working through it.

Being programmed against experiencing the shadow, the dark emotions, have made people afraid of them -- afraid of being emotional, afraid of being judged. In fact, often, they think they are feeling them, but really they’re not, which is an issue when it comes to truly connecting.

Every engagement that we have with someone is there to show us something.

When we trigger each other with our emotions and then we navigate through the storm together, we shift consciousness.
