Ep.43 "The Report" is A Must-watch!

On this episode Graham & Jocelyn discuss Amazon Prime original movie "The Report," starring Adam Driver, Annette Bening, Jon Hamm, and Michael C Hall. Before getting into the heart of the matter, the two co-hosts banter and poked fun at their respective spouse's hometown accents. Then, Jocelyn started the conversation by saying Adam Driver isn't what comes to mind as "leading man" material due to his unconventional looks; however, Adam Driver's acting skills and his inexplicable stage presence has made him an incredibly enjoyable performer. Graham says he too, was puzzled by Adam Driver's combination of great acting skills and mysterious stage presence, until he figured out Driver has an appeal similar to that of British actor Benedict Cumberbatch; which Graham calls the "Cumberbatch Factor," and Jocelyn agrees. Graham asked Jocelyn to give a brief synopsis of movie The Report, after which they proceeded to discuss further the real-life facts surrounding the story on which the movie is based. Graham & Jocelyn praised how the movie remained as closed to the facts surrounding the story of the original report on the CIA's torture scandal in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Both hosts agreed that the movie has no political agenda, and its sole agenda is to tell the truth. Graham says The Report has helped him arrive to the following conclusions: 1.- Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are war criminals, and if they weren't Americans, they'd have been convicted of war crimes by the International Court of Justice at The Hague, Netherlands. 2.- Former president George W. Bush is the second dumbest American president in history, only bested by current president Donald J Trump. 3.- Senators Dianne Feinstein and John McCain are two of the greatest and most patriotic politicians of the 21st century.  4.- Career government employees (aka) pencil pushers are the best and greatest hope for the preservation of the democracy. Graham & Jocelyn moved on to the cast, praising Adam Driver's masterful performance of FBI agent turned senate staffer Daniel Jones. Graham says he liked the make-up work on Annette Bening's character, but he didn't find it good enough to resemble Sen. Feinstein. Jocelyn agrees and added the make-up seemed more a technique to de-glamorize Annette Bening, so as to make her portrayal of an every-day politician more believable as opposed to her movie star appearance.
