On this week's episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss Netflix Original series Top Boy, starring Ashley Walters, Kane "Kano" Robinson, Shone Romulus, and Micheal Ward, along with a fabulous cast which includes some of the UK's best up and coming actors. The series is based on original series Top Boy Summmerhouse which debuted in 2011 for Channel 4 in Britain, but was dropped after two seasons in 2013. Jocelyn and Graham discuss how the series, much like we're accustomed to see from British screenwriters, allows viewers to see all the sides to each one of the characters however evil and violent of a life they may lead. The writing of the show tells a complete story of human beings who are multifaceted and not as one-dimensional as other series present characters as "the bad guy" and "the good guy." Jocelyn expressed surprise to see how British society has some of the same social issues as in American society, such as racism and classism, and anti-immigrant sentiments as depicted in the series. Jocelyn  & Graham then discuss the premise of the show and addressed each one the characters (no spoilers!), the cast, and how it's not entirely necessary to watch the old series in order to understand what goes on in the new series.
