KEY TAKEAWAYS

As a businessman, if Rob were to be an animal he would be a bird of prey. Stating that he would not like to be an animal that could get preyed on, he would also like to have the freedom to fly.

Rob discusses his creative outlets and how creativity in his life is a need for him and likens being creative as a therapy for him. Rob was recently paid by Progressive to do some painting, and although he is no longer doing this he is achieving his need for creativity through various different outlets such as his podcasts, and by creating crazy social media content. His love for being creative enables him to do something that nobody has ever done before. His introductions at The Property Super Conference were in a limerick format, something the world has never seen before.

Rob Moore discusses the tips he would give his 20-year-old business thinking self.Focus: stop getting distracted by the party lifestyle and focus on your future. Drink and distractions are not good for business. It is okay to seek help and assistance from others. When he was younger he worked so hard, that sometimes mistakes happened. It is fine to seek assistance in the forms of PA's or advisors in order to take the heat off.Never lose the desire and ability to think big. Do not let critics who do not think as big as you get into your head and shadow your vision.

The importance of those who you surround yourself with. Rob discusses how sometimes, people may be trying to hold you back, but it is important to have the self-awareness to think, are they holding you back or are they just trying to protect you? Rob also tells of the importance of his business partner and his wife, and how they are often trying to protect him. They think of the downsides and keep him sane, and whilst this can be frustrating it is appreciated.

It's vital in business to not surround yourself with YES people, and those who will go along with anything you say as they do not want to challenge your ideas. Rob sees a challenge as a necessity, that in business you need to be challenged. He links being challenged as a business strength as it shows that people have the courage to challenge his ideas.

Robs way of thinking and talking is very ‘Get to the point'. He admits that listening to others is the best gift you can give, however, he often takes a direct approach to those customers who are having one to one course with him. He often asks his clients to summarise their ideas into one sentence to get to the point of what they truly want to achieve. He would rather have his clients say that Rob challenged them in some ways, but that enabled their personal success in whichever way they desired than describe him as just a ‘nice guy'. They are paying him, to help them further their success and sometimes you have to challenge people in order to do so. Rob describes his impatience as one of his strengths.
