After two years of discussion, the Santa Barbara City Council voted to cap the number of cruise ships visiting Santa Barbara annually, and to prioritize ships with anti-pollution technology and strong environmental compliance records. Santa Barbara ChannelKeeper, alongside other local environmental groups, played an important role in discussions leading up to the city's decision.
