Earlier this month, beloved community member and outspoken housing rights activist Mickey Flacks passed away at the age of 80 after a battle with cancer. As part of our tribute to her tireless work in local and community politics, we present a 2013 interview with her and former KCSB reporter Peyton Stotelmyre where she explains her support for the Average Unit Density Housing Program, her support of which stands as a testament to her lifelong legacy battling for low-income housing for Santa Barbara residents.
