The city bus line is a popular way for many Isla Vista residents to get around. This year, the Santa Barbara MTD turns 50, and it's most popular line runs through IV. The MTD's Hillary Blackerby joins KCSB's Lisa Osborn to talk about the SBMTD's history - and what's ahead.

You'll also hear from an IV resident who works as a groundskeeper at UCSB. He participated in a one-day labor strike to support local UPTE members. He explains how bargaining talks between his union (AFCSME) as well as UPTE, and UCSB negotiators have come to an impasse.
