Two Democrats are competing to represent the First District on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. Laura Capps announced this week that she would be taking on incumbent Das Williams.
Williams has taken heat over accepting campaign donations from cannabis interests. Residents in Carpinteria are outraged over the large cannabis grows that are sprouting up neighborhoods. Capps, a member of the school district board, didn’t mention Cannabis - or her opponent - during her announcement at the Old Mission’s Rose Garden. Surrounded by supporters, and students from Roosevelt Elementary school, Capps’ young son Oscar, introduced his mom. Here’s a portion of Tuesday’s announcement.
