I decided that today I wanted to talk to you about a very important topic without any guests– just you and me today.

The beginning of the breakdown of the family in the US began around the time of the Industrial Revolution- roughly from the 1780 to the mid 1800’s. And it continues unchecked to this day.

For decades in the US, and around the world, we have been teaching our youth the importance of material success and prosperity, but we have failed to teach them how to experience and express their feelings, and about the values that are necessary to build good character, strong families, and a harmonious society.

Our moral compass is broken. Too many parents are not instilling the sense of respect for human emotions, a reliance on values that drive behaviors, empathy for others, self-discipline, and good character necessary for a healthy society. Adults, young and old, are less and less likely to form lasting intimate relationships which develop into committed marriages and stable families.

Today we are going to start at the beginning with a conversation about feelings and creating intimacy in our most important relationships.
