As a follower of Jesus, being engaged in works of ministry can wonderful, but difficult at the same time. Therefore, Paul encourages Timothy to be strengthened in the grace of Christ. He encourages Timothy to be like a soldier with a whole hearted devotion for the priorities of Jesus; an athlete who is disciplined in following God’s word; a hard-working farmer toiling unto a spiritual harvest.
