Ken Abraham show notes

In this episode we learn the power of a story. Everyone has a unique story that should be told in order for it to inspire someone else. We have the privilege of having Ken Abraham join us today. He is an author of over 80 books, 15 of which are on the New York Times Best Sellers’ list. When he was 8 years old, he started writing about other peoples’ stories because he also feels that everyone has a story to tell. He feels if you take the time to ask questions and listen, you will see doors open that you have never seen before.

Sometimes people feel that their story is so terrible that they don’t deserve forgiveness. That is not true. People need at least one person to show them the love of God and his grace. They need someone to say “God hasn’t given up on you and I am not giving up on you either.” As a matter of fact, Journey Principles is here for that reason. We all have fallen short at one point but we know that God isn’t done with us. God doesn’t give up on someone and we aren’t giving up either.

Other times people feel that they have hit “rock bottom” and can’t go any further. Ken Abraham points out that God allows us to come to that place where we have exhausted our efficiency and therefore we need to lean on Him. It is usually that place where real liberty and freedom begins.

Then there are people who have experienced both. They feel they have hit “rock bottom” and they can’t possibly be forgiven for the things that have caused them to hit that low. That is where God’s grace comes into play more than ever. Some people feel that they need to have a lot of faith in order to lean on God. The most amazing thing about God is that he never said we needed to have lots of faith to seek him. We just need to have genuine faith.

We are honored to have Ken Abraham tell us a little about his story. He shares with us about his parents and the struggles they faced as a family. He tells us about someone’s story that had an impact on him. He also shares with us an adversity in his life that he had to overcome; he felt that he could go no further. Listen with us today as Ken tells about God’s grace, what got him through that hard time and what gets him through every day.
