Peace Beyond Addiction Part 2 | With Lee Flach

Hello again Journey Principles family, we sincerely hope you are enjoying these podcast. Our guest is real life examples that you can overcome.

In part two of our show with Lee Flach, we get Lee's practical take aways from Part Two of Peace Beyond Addiction.

For those who love and addict.

Resist the urge to enable, allowing can increase the time that a user may need to heal and break free. Lee shares that his wife was always loving but always had very clear boundaries and that included putting him out and loving him from afar.

Intercede in prayer, while Lee's wife was deleting proper boundaries she was in constant prayer asking for her miracle and asking for Lee to be safe and for God to break Lee's heart away from the addiction and toward the father.

Praying for discernment, Discernment should I be used while addict it trying to beat the addiction. The addiction clouds the mind, which also means the user, is not in a healthy state to have the full authority of trust. As trust is earned, allow small levels of new trust to be built. It gives the addict hope, and they can see the little wins they are making each day. At the same time don't take it personally if addict relapses, there is a real chemical, physical, and spiritual battle being fought.

Addiction is illogical - It's tough to understand illogical acts or struggles. So it's best to find peace in the scriptures and through journaling. Remember the addict is working through areas of the past, present and what they believe they feel like their future could be. Even when things are going well, addicts feel as though they are in fear of success and failure. They are building a new standard, and if they have known addiction for a long time then, even healthy sobriety can feel awkward to them. This is where patience is needed and reassurance that the adjustment can take place and will allow more joy in the future.
