Happy Halloween!! We are looking at our masks and monkey mind as you navigate your divorce.

We often wear masks to hide the shadow part of us that we are ashamed of or feel insecure about. We sometimes assume what another wants from us and wear that mask. I'm talking about showing up inauthentically. I smile when I want to cry, say yes when I really don't want to do that thing, bite our tongue, swallow our words, accept the unacceptable, choose not to 'complain' when we are displeased, put up or put out when we don't want to.

Our 'monkey mind' is at the center of this inauthentic approach to living. If I don't show up a certain way, they won't like me, my inlaws will think less of me, my spouse with throw a tantrum, my boss will think I am not loyal, my friend will think I am selfish - and so I do what I believe is desired or expected rather than just being me - authentically - perfectly - imperfect me!

This episode gives you baby steps to begin noticing and shifting beliefs and behaviors that don't move you toward the life of freedom, ease and authenticity you desire.

Then there is another mask...one that can serve us really well - especially when we have to do thing we are afraid of. That mask will be discussed in our next Karen Solo episode! Stay tuned!!
