Proton Radio asked me to do a guest mix for their July 26th show (aired at 1AM EDT, July 26th), so here it is. Alongside Origins host, Odessa, recent guests include Nickodemus, Thievery Corporation and Chris Joss. If you missed the live show, here it is.

Mix Description:
Some of the tracks on this mix are a littler older, but when I hear them, they bring back memories of when Club FIVE in Washington, DC was at it’s prime. Today, Club FIVE is no longer and has been replaced with another sports bar. If you would have frequented Club FIVE during the house scene at it’s peak in Washington DC, you might have heard me play some of these tracks on FIVE’s main room system. Towards the end of this mix, I picked a few newer tunes that I’m really enjoying at the moment and that prove to be very responsive on the dance floor. This is sixty-four minutes of music, hand-picked by Jimi Wes, that blends nostalgia from Club FIVE with some of the newer bombs that are being released.

If I had to pick one track on the mix that really does it for me, it would be Sergio Flores’ s Afro Tek Remix of Studio Apartment’s “Siarre”. The production/remix work on this track is phenomenal, the vibe is intense and the breakdowns/buildups are guaranteed to make any dance floor turn into a pressure cooker. Play it out and watch the dance floor pop off!
