In this episode Louis Fishman, author of Jews and Palestinians in the Late Ottoman Era, 1908-1914. Claiming the Homeland (University of Edinburgh Press) tells about Jerusalem in the late Ottoman era and he also tells us about the modern connection between Turkey and Jerusalem. Louis then takes us through the story of the 1911 Haram al-Sharif incident and its consequences then to proceed to discuss the understanding of Zionism in late Ottoman Palestine.
