Newsflash: Visuals matter.
I would even venture to say that visuals matter more than words. Because if you don't have a great visual, people aren't going to click through to read those words that are so important to you.
And it's not just any visual - it's high-quality visuals. Adding a stock photo to your content isn't going to be what gets your content read. It needs to be good-looking and compelling. If your featured images suck, it doesn't say much about you and your content.
Furthermore, your visuals must work on mobile, because more and more people are consuming and sharing content through those handheld tiny screens.
If you're not working to create better visuals to market yourself, it's time to start.
