This year's editions of Martial Movie Massacre continue with even more content as we put to bed the myth that martial arts movies are largely responsible for martial art movie tropes and cliches. From "The Avengers" to "Bad Day at Black Rock" via the Eon James Bond franchise, the original Star Trek series and The Saint we look at the judo chop, the generic throw and the double-axe handle. These tropes and bad fight scene ideas emerged as Asian martial arts failed to get a foothold on the mainstream market until the 1970s, but once they were in place they would be hard to shake. Yet, if we look at an unsuccessful post WW2 movie, we note that things might have been different.

Meanwhile, special guests, Peter Jones and Leigh Simms, deliver insightful and entertaining contributions on getting knocked out and heroes who break the law.

Put down the gloves and pick up the pop corn!
