SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

According to IMDb, it’s debated when the film actually takes place. Ray Peterson mentions how he doesn't want to sit in “holiday traffic” during his argument with Carol. During the scene when they break into Walter’s house out of concern for his well-being, you can clearly see a June, 1989 calendar hanging on the wall. We can assume the film takes place either the week of Memorial Day (Mon., May 29, 1989), or the week leading up to the July 4th, which fell on the first Tuesday of July.)

The movie takes place over five days. Here are the two holiday scenarios:

MEMORIAL DAY

Opens Sun., May 28 with Ray witnessing strange happenings in basement.

Mon., May 29 (everyone off, except Chemlawn truck folks, mention of holiday traffic)

Tues., May 30 (trash day, go into Walter’s house, Walt ahead on the calendar in his house)
