A few years ago, we decided to set up camp at a crossroads where people from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, and professions happen to walk by.

We invite them to stop, rest a bit, and join our conversations — most of them gladly do.

We call these encounters Unusual Gatherings.

People say you don't know what you've got until it's gone. This is true for many things in life, and it is true in business too. This episode is about that from the infosec community's perspective.

It's easy to get into a routine and begin to take things for granted. It's comfortable; it's natural.
For example, roughly a year before recording today's episode, we attended the InfoSec Europe event in London. It was conference time as usual: meeting with people and eventually getting in front of cameras and holding our mics for a daily recap. We miss that, and so we asked a few friends to repeat that same gathering. But this time, things are different: we are on webcam, calling from our home, and we cannot meet at the pub later on. But everyone, luckily, said yes, and we are so glad it happened.

We really appreciate being together, even if far away from each other.

With change comes more change. In this episode, we all realize and recognize that many things need to be re-evaluated, reappreciated, and even re-imagined. It's likely many others in the infosec community feel the same way as our guests have felt and do still; having experienced some of the same challenges our guests have encountered and having adjusted and evolved in similar ways.

Join us for this candid and friendly conversation to possibly find some solace in that others are dealing with similar or the same things you are.

You are not alone. We are together in this — and there is some magic in that.
