Three years ago, we started having our Chats On The Road to Las Vegas.

As we are gearing up to cover three more conferences, we are having our pre-event conversations for each one. As we are planning to make all them a recurring series, this particular podcast is already part of a solid ITSPmagazine tradition: the third Chats on the Road conversation with Black Hat General Manager, Steve Wylie. This episode kicks off our coverage for such a pillar event in our industry.

It is always a pleasure to talk to Steve and, as our content production during the events has gone from written articles to the inclusion of podcasts and daily video recaps, we invited him to join us for one of the latest, right from the Mandalay show floor (stay tuned!).

We honestly cannot wait to have many old and new friends from the InfoSec community join us for all of these gatherings in Las Vegas. As you probably know by now, our gatherings are quite unusual, but also fun and educational.

Let’s start from the beginning — or maybe it’s better to say, the present time.

This Black Hat is expected to be one of the most significant events in its 22-year history. More than 90 tactical trainings, nearly 120 briefings, over 90 arsenal tools, more than 300 sponsors, and some new content programs that you can hear about listening to this podcast.

In this conversation, we also talk about:

This year’s research and reports that have just rolled out a few days ago.

The many tracks that that will cover a wide variety of topics: elections, automotive, aviation, IoT, privacy, policy, WhatsApp, and Apple Security - amongst the others.

The new addition of the Arsenal Lab

The new Micro Summits formula that will focus on Cyber Insurance and BugBounty Programs.

The many important community-focused tracks.

It’s also worth noting that this year saw a record call-for-papers submission; the most in the history of Black Hat. This is a sure sign that the community is healthy and growing. We hope so.

Here is a toast to a fantastic event for everyone.

See you all at Black Hat 2019!
