Bonjour mes rockers a travers le monde! Ca va bien?

There’s a recent I’m whipping out my Quebec French on this one…

I’m so pumped to introduce to you today the driving force behind Montreal’s very own Second Harbour. I was born and raised in La Belle Province in the city of Montreal so it was a special moment for me to interview these two brothers from my hometown.

It’s so inspiring to see young musicians and songwriters such as this alternative pop punk rock duo. As they mention in the interview, even though most of their friends listen to electronic music, the fact they are so passionate about punk rock not only warms by black heart but makes me hopeful to no end to know that there are some youths waving that rock and roll flag up high. Yeah baby! If you like bands like Blink-182, Sum 41 and Rise Against, you’ll love this band.

You can tell just how tight their brotherly bond is practically almost finishing each other’s sentences. Their passion for their art, their energy and excitement about their future is infectious and made it really fun to hang with them.

We talk about the trials and tribulations of working with music softwares and recording in the studio for the first time when you’ve never played to a click track (especially if you’re a drummer!)! All you musicians know exactly what I’m talking about!!! It’s one of those early rock and roll lessons we all go through as a recording band.

We geek out on a little gear talk so please bare with us just a tad bit.

We discuss that do-it-yourself attitude that’s much needed in bands of today when it comes to self promotion, connecting with their fanbase and even coming up with their own merchandise.

Hope you get inspired as much as I was talking to Xavier and Vince from Second Harbour.

Go check them out, connect and give them props on Instagram @ secondharbour.

Merci beaucoup, les boys!
