Marriage equality pioneer Kris Perry joined the podcast to talk about the landmark Supreme Court case of Hollingsworth v. Perry, as well as her new role with Children and Screens, a non-profit that explores the impact of digital media and screen time on kids’ mental, social, and emotional development. As an award-winning child advocate Kris is considered an expert not only on the ways that digital media is affecting our kids - ranging from social media to violence in the news - but also practical, implementable tips to help parents navigate these challenges. For three decades Kris has worked to improve the lives of young children, most recently as a Senior Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsome of California, focusing on the implementation of early childhood development initiatives, and now as the newly appointed Executive Director of Children and Screens.
