Episode 28: The Smell of Cordite Kazoos - Halloween Special 2020 (25th October 2020)

‘The Podcast that warns you to beware the moon and keep t’ path.'

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!

As Jeremy busies himself in the lightning-lashed laboratory of his crumbling East European castle, stitching together a monster Bono out of body part of his U2 band mates, Vince and Neil are free to run around in silly spooky costumes (or in Neil’s case, his everyday wear), scaring the neighbourhood because they ain’t afraid of no ghosts (though they are irked by double negatives).

As nefarious Neil ‘Bonemaker’ Barrett fondly remembers the wilds of Devonshire, Sigourney Weaver glammed-up to the nines, and the smell of illegal fireworks in the autumnal night, and Vampiric Vince ‘Scarifier’ Stadon is haunted by Ray Parker Sr, the Hound of the Baskervilles, and beef and tomato flavour cupasoups, in this terrible, spooky, extra long Halloween show, the diabolical duo tackle the running order of the White Album; the Americanization and commensurate commercialisation of the pagan celebration of Halloween; and the moral and ethic considerations underlining the thematic meanings of, err, T’Pau.  But scariest of all, In Jeremy's absence they flail around in complete ignorance of facts, misremembering everything and generally bringing the Overrated Podcast to a new low.

The artists we discuss and rate on this show are Ray Parker Jr, T’Pau, Rockwell and Warren Zevon.  As always, The Beatles are our final topic of discussion.
