Previous Episode: Elonda Reads Jer 2-4 JKV

In Jeremiah 5, the Lord is searching for honesty and truth among the people so He can forgive the city. But instead, the people, including the leaders, are hardening their hearts and refusing to repent. They are unfaithful to God and are rejecting the words of the prophets saying that no harm will come to them. But God assures them that He will judge them and raise up a nation to take them into captivity.

Chapter 6 describes Jerusalem under siege in response to the people’s idolatry and rebellion against God. The Lord continually warns them of the consequences, but they refuse to listen to the warning and turn to God. And as a result, they are rejected.
