Summary of Mark 1-3

The book of Mark is the 2nd book of the New Testament.
The book opens with the prophesy of Isaiah that a messenger would be sent to prepare the way for Jesus, the Messiah and that messenger is John the Baptist.
Jesus is baptized and immediately sent into to wilderness for 40 days being tempted by Satan.
He begins his teaching on the kingdom—that the time has come and that the kingdom of God is near for those to repent and believe.
His ministry in Galilee included healing the sick, casting out unclean spirits and various miracles taking place in the presence of the multitudes that followed him.
As those who continued to pose opposition to His teaching and authority questioned why His disciples were not fasting like those of the Pharisees and whether it was lawful to heal on the Sabbath.
