11.23.19 Focus on Faith with Baraka Bouts

On the November 23rd edition of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union's Irish Sports Saturdays, our Focus on Faith interview is with the ladies from Baraka Bouts. Baraka Bouts is the women’s Boxing Club at Notre Dame and was founded in 1997. Last year Baraka Bouts raised $220,000 for the Holy Cross Missions in East Africa. Killian Mountford is a junior at Notre Dame and a St. Joseph high alum. She was a starter on St. Joe’s girls basketball state championship team from a few years ago. Killian reached the semifinals of Baraka Bouts. Meg Guilfoile is also a junior and a Baraka Bouts captain. She traveled to Uganda and saw first hand the impact the money that Baraka Bouts raises can have on the Holy Cross Missions there. She served as a teacher at a school in Uganda over the summer.
