Corda and Lageson on the Disclosure of Criminal Records

In this episode, Dr. Alessandro Corda, a lecturer at the Queens University School of Law in Belfast, Ireland, and Dr. Sarah Lageson, an assistant professor at the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice, discuss their article, Disordered Punishment: Workaround Technologies of Criminal Records Disclosure and the Rise of a New Penal Entrepreneurialism which is published in the British Journal of Criminology. Their paper explores a new landscape of criminal record management in America and Europe, where private corporations are arguably more powerful than governments, and the implications that holds for punishment and rehabilitation.
