Where should a city start when it comes to tackling climate change? And just how much greenhouse gas (GHG) is being emitted anyway? These are some of the questions cities seek to answer when they establish GHG inventories.
Gather the data and analyze it - seems straightforward enough, right? As with many climate efforts, though, things have a way of getting complicated. There are different kinds of GHG inventories, and each tells you something a little different.
Join Recycling Coordinator Jane Wilch and Climate Action Coordinator Sarah Gardner for an interactive discussion of Iowa City's own GHG inventory efforts, which are the longest running citywide inventories in the state.
As with previous "Speaking of" discussions, this is a casual conversation without slides or charts. It's a chance to talk through some mouthwatering questions and learn some useful information along the way.
