Voted the highest quality of life in India, Udaipur way exceeded our expectations. We loved every minute of this beautiful, historic, clean and navigable city. We feel like Udaipur is how the REST of India could be and is a model for development, cleanliness and hospitality. India will never be a Western country, but if the rest of India became like Udaipur, it would be a paradise.
Travel Tips- we enjoyed the old city by staying at a nice family run place called Nukkad Guest House with simple, clean food, morning yoga classes and a prime location. There are many guest houses in Udaipur that range from $30-60 per night which are quite nice. The extremely expensive hotels are beautiful to catch a view of as well.
Pro- Travel Tip- bring a pollution mask because many of the streets are narrow with tons of auto traffic and the exhaust can be heavy. Do not miss the show at Bagore ki Haveli! Listen to the full episode for all the insider tips!
