S03/EP01 - Kyomi (Peru) and Leo (France), And Suddenly the Borders Closed And We Couldn’t See Each Other…

Meet Kyomi (Peru) and Leo (France)  

In October 2019 Leo decided to travel to Latin America, on his own. In preparation, he signed in an application to find a Tandem-Partner in order to learn Spanish. So it didn’t take long, and he started to chat with Kyomi. Kyomi is from Peru and after 3 months of texting and communicating he decided to fly to Peru. His idea was to spend a couple of months in Latin America. He arrived on the 7th of March 2020, finally met Kyomi in person and not long after, actually just a week later, they’ve learned about COVID.  Almost all countries closed their borders After falling in love when seeing each other in person, it was time already to say goodbye. Leo rushed to the airport. Within 6 hours, he arranged everything for his flight back to France, not knowing how their love story will continue.  After saying goodbye at the airport, 10 months passed until they could meet again. All the time in between, they stayed in contact and managed the hurdles a long distance relationship comes with. While recording this episode, Kyomi and Leo were reunited in Peru. They’re waiting for the borders of France to reopen.  Their message is clear: dating on distance works. So go ahead and check out their journey.
