Dr. Mark Gianturco, Chief Technology Officer for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), joins us live from the Intel AI Lounge at SXSW 2017. NCMEC serves as a national clearinghouse for data about missing and exploited children and has closed more than 220,000 missing children cases since 1984. Its CyberTipline has fielded more than 16 million tips about exploited children since 1998, with 15 million tips arriving in just the last four years. NCMEC has teamed with Intel and other industry partners to use technologies like artificial intelligence, deep learning, and enterprise data management to help more children more quickly. In this interview, Gianturco discusses NCMEC's work, how Intel is helping, what the future holds, and how you can support NCMEC's mission to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization.
