Oren Benisty, EVP Strategic Sales, Silicom, joins Intel Chip Chat Network Insights to discuss the concerns around proprietary hardware when customers need to assurances that all software elements are fully compatible. Customers are requesting innovative, modular designs in order to meet different requirements for different IO interfaces, different CPU SKUs, range of wi-fi modules and storage offerings.

In this interview, Oren speaks to Silicom’s approach to edge computing and the technology integrations in their new outdoor system which includes FPGAs and Intel Xeon processors to deliver a virtual RAN outdoor system with a range of use cases from 4G to 5G and host Intel FlexRAN for 5G.
