Intel Chip Chat – Network Insights audio podcast with Allyson Klein: A team of 9 industry leaders worked together deliver a live VR360 experience from IBC in unrivaled 8K quality. Using commercially available elements, the end-to-end system broadcast 5 days of events from live from IBC 2019.

Stephen Shaw, Business Development Director for Iconic Engine and Rob Koenen, Co-Founder and CBO for Tiledmedia, join Intel Chip Chat Network Insights in this archive of a live cast interview from the Visual Cloud conference and IBC Show 2019, in Amsterdam, Netherlands to share how the different elements worked together to distribute high-quality video to users worldwide. 8K quality enables a much more immersive experience than the traditional 4K VR quality, but to date, it has not been possible to deliver this level of quality at such massive scale. Tiledmedia enables the tiling approach to VR delivery, a very clever way to only deliver the viewport in high quality saving significant bandwidth and decoding resources. Iconic Engine has integrated the technology into its own app SDK, enabling it to offer the novel technology to its customers and to their users.
