Gibson explains how next-generation connectivity will bring with it increased complexity, requiring operators to support more spectrum bands, protocols and access types; deploy and manage tens of thousands more cell sites; push services closer to users at the edge; and deliver tailored network slices to meet the needs of new use cases. Using a common 5G core, converged service providers can optimize their network resources, lower network costs, and swiftly capitalize on new revenue opportunities.
