UC Davis PD Hires First DACA Officer
A recent California law removed the U.S. citizenship requirement for people seeking to become peace officers - expanding eligibility to those with federal work authorization. UC Davis Police Department recently hired its first officer who is a beneficiary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Officer Ernesto Moron joins Insight to talk about his life experience along with UC Davis police chief Joe Farrow - one of the champions of the new law, who talks about what the expanded eligibility can mean for both police departments and people seeking a career in law enforcement.

The 22nd annual festival will take place February 15-19 in Nevada County. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is produced by SYRCL, the South Yuba River Citizens League, and it's the nonprofit's largest annual fundraiser, helping to raise money for year-round conservation projects to protect and restore the Yuba River watershed.
